| Beskrivning av tillverkare | Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste The castle’s name comes from the family Lacoste, who owned the estate and from its localization. Indeed, the château is located on the ‘plateau de Bages’, around the vines, on a hill. In 1930, Raymond Dupin bought the castle. The castle was sold shortly before his death to the family Borie. Today, François-Xavier Borie is leading this area of 52 hectares, ranked as ‘fifth cru classé’ in 1855. The wines of the property deserve, however, a better ranking. Made from cabernet sauvignon (70%), merlot (25%) and cabernet franc (5%), the château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is one of the best bargains of Pauillac. This is a classic of the appellation! The area also produces a second wine, called Lacoste-Borie. |
